FRIDAY, MAY 24th: LIVE MUSIC AT WARD PARK!
Highway 341 Band will be performing at Ward Park Pavilion 6-8pm. Audience will need to bring their lawn chairs for seating!
SATURDAY, MAY 25th DOWNTOWN EVENTS West Woodyard Street from Rt. 1 to the post office:
Official Sesquicentennial Opening 1pm: presented by Village President Shawn Schendel officially kicking off our event and using the historic Ridge Farm Gavel on Stage.
Abe Lincoln Impersonator (Approximately 1:30): Abe gives a live historical perspective of Ridge Farm history from the stage derictly after the opening Abe will also be walking the streets interacting with celebration participants form 11:00am - 4:00pm.
Ridge Farm’s Got Talent (Approximately 2pm): From the stage following Abe. This is your chance to show your talent and your pride in our town! This event follows the tradition of the Ridge Farm Tomato Festival Talents Shows emceed by Earl Roberts during the 1950's and 1960's. We are hoping to recreate those great memories again. Do you sing, dance, play an instrument, have a comedy skit, or other talent? For more information and details on entering the contest, click here.
Bags Tournament: Begins immediately following the talent show about 3:00. Sign up for tournament begins at 2pm. The tournament will be set up in the middle of West Woodyard Street running east to west. We expect the tournament to conclude approximately 6pm.
Food & Beverage Downtown:
Wild Rooster: Will be providing beverages only from the "horse trailer"
The Ridge: The Ridge will be offering food and beverages.
Doughbelly’s Pizza: Pizza specials will be offered throughout the evening.
Ridge Farm Fire Department: Offering pulled pork BBQ sandwiches and other offerings.
Live Music Downtown on the Stage:
Travis Henry Band: Classic 70’s and 80’s rock-n-roll. Start time 4pm
Logan Kirby Band: Vintage country (Immediately following Travis Henry).
Trey Hughes & Rough Country Band (Immediately following Logan Kirby)
* All events to conclude by midnight as agreed to with the village officials.
SATURDAY, MAY 25th WARD PARK EVENTS:
"Everyone Walks, No One Watches" Parade 9:30am (Sponsored by The Elwood Library District housed in the Carnegie Library Building): The Library is donating decorations to all participates for adorning bikes, trikes, wagons, strollers, golf carts, etc... These decorations are to be pickep up during library hours. Everyone in attendance walks in the parade around the park. Participants are encouraged to dress in keeping with the Sesquicentennial theme reflecting Ridge Farm history, agriculture and patriotism.
"Kids' Fun Day at Ward Park" presented be The Lion's Club 9am-2pm:
- Pulled Pork, Hot Dogs, Cheese Nachos will be offerred staring 10am.
- Bouncy houses and games for kids will begin at 10:00am (donated by Big R Rentals)
- 50/50 Raffle
Ridge Farm Alumni Banquet: Kevin Tate and Associates will be handling this activity. The Alumni Banquet will take place at its traditional time on Saturday May 25th
